AAchievements

Achivements are awards that you receive as a player for achieving certain goals within a game. These can be simple tasks, such as completing a level, but also goals such as collecting all items from the game.

Achievements often motivate players to explore the game more intensively and unlock rewards.

AAnimations

Animations are motion sequences that are used in video games to make characters, objects or environments appear alive and realistic. They ensure that characters can run, jump, fight or interact with the game world.

In addition to game characters, environmental details such as wave movements, smoke or lighting effects are also animated to make the gaming experience more immersive.

BBots

Bots are computer-controlled characters or opponents in gaming. They are often used to enhance the gaming experience when no human players are available or to increase the level of difficulty. Bots can take on different roles, e.g. as opponents in a multiplayer game or as allies in cooperative game modes.

In competitive games, however, bots can also be perceived negatively if they are used by players to perform automated tasks or cheats, such as farming resources or exploiting game bugs.

BBrowser games

Browsergames can be played directly free of charge in the browser without having to download the game or program logic. They can be built completely platform-independent on HTML or for multimedia support with plug-ins such as Flash or Unity.

BBug

A "bug" is an unwanted error or defect in a video game that leads to unforeseen behavior. Bugs can manifest themselves in different ways, such as graphic errors, unexpected crashes or incorrectly reacting game functions. Casual games are games for every occasion that do not require a long explanation, are easy to use and promise quick and direct success. The intuitive operation, which also ensures fun on mobile devices, and the quick rewards for actions make casual games so popular. CCheats

Cheats are special codes, inputs or modifications that give players unfair advantages in video games or change certain game mechanics. They can be used to make the game easier, e.g. through invulnerability, unlimited resources or skipping levels.

CClans

Clans – also known as alliances or guilds - are organized groups of players in video games who join forces to play together, work together strategically or compete against other teams. They mainly appear in multiplayer and online games, where teamwork and communication are crucial.

However, clans are not only found in shooters, MMORPGs or strategy games - there are also clans in farm games and economic simulations there are virtual groups of players who work together to achieve goals or take part in competitions. Clans promote the social aspect of gaming and enhance the gaming experience through teamwork and shared successes.

CClient Games

CCombo

A combo (short for "combination") is a sequence of actions or attacks in quick succession in a video game, usually used in fighting or action games. By entering a specific sequence of buttons or movements, the player can execute a series of punches, kicks or special attacks that often overwhelm the opponent and cause additional damage.

CCooldown

Cooldown in video games, a cooldown is the amount of time that must elapse after using a skill, item or action before it can be used again. Cooldowns are often used in video games;Role-playing games or action games. The strategic planning of cool-downs is essential for success in competitive games.

FFarming

Farming in virtual games refers to the repeated collection of resources, items or experience points by repeatedly completing the same tasks (or defeating certain opponents). FFPS

There are two terms for this abbreviation in gaming:

FPS – Frames per Second: This refers to the number of images that are displayed on the screen per second. The higher the FPS rate, the smoother the game runs. An FPS value of 30 to 60 is roughly standard.

FPS - First-person shooter: Das is a genre of video games in which the player experiences the game world from a first-person perspective. In FPS games, the player usually controls a character who uses weapons to fight opponents.

FFree 2 Play

Free to Play means that a game can be played completely free of charge directly in the browser or after a free download. There are no acquisition costs, subscription fees or other payment obligations for players.

Within the game, however, there are certain items or features that can be purchased for premium currency. However, these are voluntary additional offers that are not mandatory for players.

A game with good gameplay offers a balanced mix of challenge and reward that engages and motivates the player. Gameplay can be divided into different categories such as core gameplay (central mechanics) or meta gameplay (strategies and long-term goals).

GGlitch

A glitch is an unexpected error in a gamethat often leads to unusual behavior. In contrast to bugs, which can cause serious problems, glitches are often minor, temporary glitches that do not make the game unplayable, but can have strange effects. Examples of glitches are graphic errors, a character getting stuck in objects or the unintentional traversal of walls. You can report such bugs to our support team.

Some glitches can be exploited by players to gain advantages. This is then called an „exploit“.

GGrinding

Grinding in games describes the repeated completion of certain tasks or actions in order to achieve progress, such as collecting experience points, resources or items. It is particularly typical for role-playing games and online multiplayer games.

Although grinding is sometimes perceived as monotonous, it can also be rewarding when players are rewarded for their perseverance with coveted items or tangible progress. The right mix of challenge and reward makes grinding a motivating element in many games.

GGuild

A guild (see also clan) is an organized group of players in multiplayer or online games who work together to achieve common goals. These goals can include completing dungeons, PvP battles or collecting resources.

Guilds offer social interaction, support and strategies to better master the challenges of the game. Many guilds have hierarchies, ranking systems and communication channels to coordinate their members and strengthen the sense of community.

HHTML Games

Just like browser games and online games in general, HTML games do not require a download or any other supporting plug-ins such as Unity or Flash, but can be played completely platform-independently. The game data and actions are processed and stored entirely on the server side and do not place any load on the player's hardware.

HHUD

The HUD (Heads-Up Display)is the user interface in video games that shows players important information during the game without interrupting the flow of the game. IImmersion

IIn-game currency

IItem

An item is a virtual object that can be used within a game. These can be materials, decorations or other special items that are beneficial to the game or fulfill a specific function. In browsergames, items often play a decisive role in the progress of the game and the player experience.

JJoystick

A joystick is an input device that was originally developed for console and arcade games. Although it is less common in browser and mobile games, its functions are still used from time to time.

Virtual controls or game pads are more commonly seen in apps. These could be games with intensive control mechanics, such as racing or flight simulations, for example.

JJump'n'Run

A Jump'n'Run is a video game genre in which the focus is on precise jumping (Jump) and running (Run) through levels. Players control a character who has to overcome obstacles, defeat enemies and often collect items.

Jump'n'run games require skill, responsiveness and often strategic thinking to successfully master the challenges.

MMMO (Massively Multiplayer Online)

An MMO is an online game with a very large number of games;number of playersplay simultaneously in the same virtual game world. The game worlds in MMOs are usually persistent, which means that they exist continuously and change even when the player is offline. MMMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game)

An MMORPG is a special genre of online role-playing games in which thousands of players play simultaneously in a large, persistent online world. In an MMORPG, players create their own character, which they develop by completing quests, defeating opponents and collecting experience points.

Players can interact with each other by forming clans, alliances or guilds, completing tasks together or competing against each other in PvP battles. Teamwork and communication often play a central role in this.

MMobile Game

A mobile game is a video game that has been specially developed for mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. These games are characterized by their ease of access, intuitive controls and often short playing times, which makes them ideal for playing on the go.

Mobile games span a variety of genres, from casual games (casual games) to more complex titles. They are usually downloaded via app stores such as the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

NNerf

NNPC

An NPC, short for "Non-Player Character", is a character in a video game that is not controlled by the player, but by the game's AI (artificial intelligence). NPCs can take on different roles, such as allies, enemies or neutral characters. They often serve as quest givers, merchants or sources of information.

Although NPCs are not directly controlled by the player, they often interact with the player or their character and can influence the game experience through dialog, actions or reactions.

OOffline mode

An offline mode allows players to play the game without an internet connection. This function is particularly useful in mobile games to be able to continue playing on the move or in areas with a poor connection. PPatch

A patch is an update or software correction released by the developers of a video game to fix bugs, glitches or security flaws in the game. Patches can also be used to add new content, improve balancing or optimize existing game mechanics. They are usually made available after the launch of the game to respond to problems or player feedback.

Regular patches are common in online games to maintain the game and improve the gaming experience over time. We report in detail about our patches in the games in the forum.

PPing

Ping describes the time it takes for a data packet to travel from the device to the player:get inside to a server and back again. This time is measured in milliseconds (ms).

A low ping means faster data transmission and therefore a responsive, smooth connection to the game server. A high ping, on the other hand, leads to delays, also known as "latency" or "lag". This delay is particularly problematic in online games such as shooters or real-time strategy games.

PPlayer versus Player (PvP)

Player versus Player, PvP for short, means that one or more (human) players with their avatars against each other. In contrast, fighting against anartificial intelligenceis referred to as PvE (Player versus Environment). A specific variant of PvP is 1v1 (one vs. one). This is exclusively a direct duel between two players.

PPremium currency

Premium currency is a special form of in-game currency that is used in video games for exclusive or rare content. In contrast to in-game currency, which can be earned by playing, premium currency is usually acquired exclusively through microtransactions with real money. The use of premium currency is always voluntary in free-to-play games and is usually the only way for the developers of such games to earn money.

QQuest

A "quest" in games is a task or mission that players have to complete in order to progress in the game. Quests are often central elements in role-playing games (RPGs), but can also be found in many other genres. They usually reward players with experience points, items or new skills and often contribute to the development of the game story.

There are main quests that advance the main story and side quests that offer additional challenges and rewards. Quests are also an important part of our browser games.

RRandom chance

Random Chance describes the use of random elements in video games in which the outcome of certain events is unpredictable and is determined by an algorithm or random number generator.

This principle can be found in our animal games, in which you can, for example, gamble. Sometimes certain color variants then have a random chance.

 

RRole-playing games

RPGs are primarily characterized by the fact that the player identifies with a character, equips the character and thus explores and shapes the game world. In an RPG, players also compete against other role-players in mostly turn-based battles (see PvP). Thanks to the technical and graphical possibilities, online role-playing games now also inspire millions of people.

SShoot 'em up

Shoot ’em up games – often abbreviated to „Shmups“ – are a subgenre of action games and are often colloquially referred to as ball games. The player controls a character or object – usually a spaceship or a fighter – and continuously fires at approaching enemies. The playing field scrolls automatically, usually horizontally or vertically, so that the player has to keep moving and dodge enemy projectiles.

A Vertical Shooter – also known as Vertical Scroller – is a subcategory of Shoot ’em up games. In this type of game, the playing field moves vertically from bottom to top, where the player typically controls a spaceship, jet or similar object.The aim is to eliminate opponents with continuous fire while avoiding obstacles and enemy projectiles. The game is usually displayed in top-down perspective, with the game action continuously scrolling upwards.

VVirtual goods

Virtual goods are digital objects that can be bought or earned in games. Examples include skins, buildings or collector's items. In browser and mobile games, virtual goods often serve as rewards or as a way to personalize the game world.

WWalkthrough

A Walkthrough is a detailed guide that helps players to successfully master a game or certain sections of it. It often contains step-by-step descriptions, solutions to puzzles or clues to hidden items. They often come in the form of text, videos or interactive maps and are a valuable resource when players are stuck.

WWave

In the gaming context, a wave refers to a group of enemies that approach the player at regular intervals or level phases. This concept is particularly popular in tower defense games, survival modes and action games.

Waves often become more difficult as the game progresses by containing stronger or more numerous enemies. Players will need to adapt their resources, strategies and skills to successfully complete successive waves.

Defeating a complete wave is often rewarded with rewards such as points, equipment or a short breather.

XXP - Experience Points
